Today we have new phones from different manufacturers. Each one is a cut above the others. In the last few years, there has been an increase in the size of the screen and the resolution of the screens. The memory and storage space are also getting larger. So what changes have been made in the new smartphones?
Almost all the major phone manufacturers have launched some version of the Android operating system, which is specifically designed for a smartphone. Earlier, there were two versions, the Freeline and Froyo, which used different operating systems. But, now all the leading brands like Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Apple and Blackberry have their own proprietary operating systems. So, users have to stick to their phones’ features and applications.
Users can now expect a lot of personalized service with these phones. They are able to design their own interface and look for features that are important to them. It is a lot more easier to navigate through the interfaces of these devices compared to the previous versions.
A few months back, the Smartphones were not capable of streaming high-definition video. Now, there are lots of phones that feature this feature. This is mainly because of the competition in the market. Many users have started demanding for more high-definition videos. This feature has been brought in due to increasing demands.
A few months back, the feature of facial recognition was available in the Smartphones. People could identify their friends with a simple touch of the feature. But, this feature is no more available in the new models.
One feature that was very popular and useful in the earlier models is the GPS tracking facility. But, this feature has been removed in the latest version of the Smartphones. The reason for such a decision is that some users did not like this feature. They found it inconvenient to use the GPS tracking facilities while using the mobile phone. They found it confusing and bothersome to track their vehicle with the help of the GPS tracker.
Another interesting feature available in the Smartphones is the instant-messaging facility. Before, people had to wait for the messages in the inbox. But, now they can get the messages right away. This feature is also available in the handsets of some handsets. So, it can be concluded that there are plenty of new features which have been added in the Smartphones.
What changes have been made in the new smartphones? Every one knows that every brand new handset is different from the old models. The user interface of the phones too varies from one phone to another. The question is that whether these differences are good or not for the users.
The answer depends on the user interface of a device. There are many users who do not like the change in the mobile phone interface. This change may be too much for them. In such a scenario, they may face difficulty in accessing the phone. Apart from that, the users have no option but to accept the new user interface. The interface might have been done in such a way so that it looks different but the functionality remains the same.
This has been seen in the case of the Smartphones which were launched as Smartphones earlier. Even the feature which was used to attract people to buy the Smartphones was the Camera. However, the feature has been changed. Now, you will find the camera on the lock screen of the mobile phone. It can be accessed only by clicking on the camera option.
Another very important feature has also been changed in the case of the new smartphones. You will find this feature in the handsets which have been launched recently. You have to press and hold the Home key on the handset to bring up the Home screen. From here, you will get to see the contact numbers, the calendar and other important information about the owner of the mobile phone. This can easily be done with the help of a virtual keyboard or a text editor.
All these features are part of what changes have been made in the new smartphones. However, it is important to look into the reasons behind the manufacturers changing the design of the mobiles. It would be prudent for the manufacturers to understand that their target users do not like to have similar designs of their favorite mobile phones. The smart and attractive mobile phones will always be a winner among the users.
